AI & Automation
What Does an AI Consultant Actually Do for a Small Business?

Search for “AI consultant near me” and you will find two extremes: enterprise firms priced for the Fortune 500, and course-sellers promising to automate your life with one prompt. In between sits the version a small business actually needs: someone who looks at how your business runs and installs practical tools that pay for themselves.
The three jobs, in plain language
- AI systems implementation. Identifying and deploying the right tools end to end: a voice agent that answers the phone when you are on a roof or in a meeting, an assistant that drafts quotes and follow-ups, and the training so your team actually uses them.
- Workflow automation. Mapping how work moves through your business, finding the friction, and connecting your existing tools so information stops being retyped from one app into another.
- Tech stack consulting. A curated, integrated set of tools fitted to your business model, budget and team size, which usually means cancelling overlapping subscriptions rather than adding new ones.
What it should not look like
Be wary of anyone leading with the technology instead of the outcome. The point of AI in a small business is not “having AI”: it is fewer missed calls, faster follow-up, quotes out the same day, and owners doing less admin at 9pm. If a proposal cannot name which of those it improves, it is a subscription, not a system.
Where to start
Start with visibility, not automation. Most small businesses leak more revenue through a weak Google Business Profile and an outdated website than through any manual workflow. Get found first, look credible second, then automate what happens after the phone rings. That order is why ContinuityOS starts every engagement with a $499 audit, credited toward your project, or a free 15-minute intro call for systems work.
Start for $499, credited toward your project. A senior-led audit of your website or Google Business Profile: see how you stack up against your top 3 competitors and get exactly what to fix first.
Get Started TodayFrequently asked questions
What do you need from me before you can start?
Your content: text, photos, logo files if you have them, and access to your domain. The build clock starts the day that lands, not the day you pay. If you do not have content ready, the Growth build includes copywriting, so we write it with you.
Is the $499 really credited, or is it on top?
Yes, in full. Whichever $499 door you start with, the whole amount comes off your project price. If you decide not to go ahead you keep the work.
Do I own my website?
Yes. The design, the code, the copy and images we produce for you, and your domain are all yours. While you are with us the site is hosted and managed on our infrastructure, which is what the hosting fee covers. If you ever want to bring it in-house or move to another provider, we transfer the code and the hosting project into your own accounts, with no downtime and no exit fee.
Do you work with businesses in the United States?
Yes. Prices here are shown in Canadian dollars and US clients are billed in US dollars. Everything else about how the work runs is identical.
I need more than a website. Can you help with that?
Yes. Alongside websites and Google Business Profile work we build AI automations and systems, and run AI training for teams: workshops that get your staff using the tools safely and well. That work starts with a free 15-minute intro call, then a scoped quote.
